Take the Escape the 9-5 Scorecard: https://bit.ly/EscapeThe9-5Now

Why do we hand out diagnoses so easily, yet find it so hard to notice the people who don't fit? In this second conversation with Jane Myers, we go beyond the label itself and ask what having ADHD, dyslexia or autism actually means once the diagnosis is done. We talk about the labels we're given and the ones we choose to keep, why 25 to 30% of us fall under the neurodiversity umbrella, and why being physically aware of the quiet person in the room might matter more than any assessment. Jane pulls no punches on the bandwagon effect, the danger of a label becoming an excuse rather than an explanation, and why we're happier asking an AI what it's like to be dyslexic than we are asking the person sitting next to us.

Jane Myers is a leadership and group-dynamics specialist and founder of Jane Myers Associates, coaching professionals on neurodiversity and performance since 2000. This is her second appearance on the podcast after episode 230's conversation on groupthink, and she brings the same directness to what a diagnosis can and cannot do for you.
